Welcome to Nafplio!
During this amazing city walking tour in the picturesque alleys of Nafplio, we visit all the most popular sights, and we experience its best parts with our local tour leader. Subsequently, we search for traces of the Franks, Venetians and Ottomans in the architecture of the city, and we enjoy the scents of the basils and jasmines that are so characteristic of the city’s streets and its castles.
This tour is for the very first time visitors of Nafplio who want to see and learn as much as possible in just 1-1.5 hours.
Firstly we begin our tour from the lobby of your hotel or from the port of Nafplio. Starting from the Land Gate, we enter the old city walls and visit the Cathedral and Saint Spiridon Square, where Ioannis Kapodistrias, Greece’s first Governor, was murdered.
Continuously we walk to the Syntagma Square, the heart of the city, and we explore its historic buildings from different periods such as the Archaeological Museum, the Vouleftikon that housed the first parliament of the free Greek state and the Old Mosque. Next, we venture to the enchanting fortress of Akronafplia, perched atop the namesake rocky peninsula, where we are spellbound by the breathtaking panoramic view. Finally, we head to the little peaceful old port to explore the Venetian fortress of Bourtzi, the trademark of the city, built on the island of Agioi Theodoroi.
After the city tour, we head back to the port or the hotel.

This tour was mind blowing! Our guide at the Epidaurus site was extremely knowledgeable and personable. The olive oil tour was very nice. I suspect an olive oil tour is more memorable when the harvest season is in full action.
Wonderful, would do again

Sophia was a fantastic tour guide, so friendly and knowledgeable. We would highly recommend her to anyone who is looking for a great guide who is English speaking. She curated a wonderful group of vendors who gave us a great taste of the city.
